The fly fishing club where I am a member put's a lot of effort in Nature preservation.
One of the projects is a natural restoration of the shoreline of the river. The club has gotten 150 trees from the government and some of the members of the clubs put the work in planting them.
'De Geul' is the only river in the Netherlands that holds a population of self-sustaining wild Trout. The roots of the trees will prevent the sediment spilling into the river protecting the spawning-beds for the fish. I have not used a spade that day,but made a small reportage of their effort.
