With guidance from André Bakker; your personal photo coach
Why would you follow a photography workshop?
Just for fun and explore your photography skills? Or do you wish to have a better understanding of your camera? Maybe photography is your hobby and you want to learn something new? Or do you have ambitions to become a professional photographer?
There are many reasons to opt for my photo workshop on 11th & 12th of May 2019. I invite you to join in on one of these days. And yes, you can also go for the workshop on both days.
Amateur or (semi) professional?
Is it important that you know quite a lot about photography before you join the workshop? Very simple: no! Beginners, hobby photographers, semi-professionals; everyone is welcome. The workshop offers appropriate learning material on every level.
Do you need a professional camera to attend the workshop? Again simple: no! From professional digital camera to smartphone; everything with which you can capture the world around you is suitable for attending the workshop. I will show you how you can optimally use the possibilities of your camera.
The camera alone does not determine the quality of your photos. Just think about the importance of light. Together we will look at how you can deal with the factor light, both natural and artificial. But also matters such as composition, proportionality, how to deal with objects, portrait techniques, the (im)possibilities of your camera and lenses, as well as useful tips & tricks will absolutely be included in the workshop material.
What does a workshop look like? To get a good idea of where you are at the moment, we will first look at some of your current photos. Based on this we determine your strengths and your less strong points in photography. In addition, you may have specific wishes and needs. This together determines the basis of the assignments you will get from me. You always get specific, unique challenges that are completely tailored to you. Afterwards we analyze the completed assignments and results together. In this way we work step by step on strengthening your photography skills.
To me, taking pictures and editing them are inseparably. That is why we are also going to edit your photos as part of the workshop. The options for editing and enhancing photos on the computer are endless and often a source of new inspiration. Together we explore the wonderful world of editing.
My studio is located on the Java island, on the IJ: LOODS 6, Surinamekade 11, in Amsterdam. The studio has fantastic northern lights but is also fully equipped with a flash system. In addition, I have extra cameras and different lenses. The urban environment in which my studio is located offers a great view with breathtaking photo opportunities. The ideal source of inspiration as a boost for your photographic creativity.
